The consultant answered the call without providing her name. After answering the phone, the consultant asked when I was looking to move and then asked for my name and contact number. I then requested her name and she provided it agreeably.

She asked how many people would occupy the unit. I told her that my boyfriend and I would be the tenants. She then asked if we were bringing pets, to which I replied, “yes”.

Maria asked how I heard about the complex. I replied that I had heard about the apartments through apartment.com. She proceeded to inform me of a one bedroom that was 770 square feet at a rate of $1,129 per month. Maria asked if that is what I would be interested in. She also asked if I had a specific price range.

She continued to share that gas and electric utilities would be included. The property management company covers trash, water and sewer fees she said.

She offered to give me a tour and we agreed on a set time. We decided on 2:30 PM. She asked if I was planning to tour alone and told me to bring my government ID. She asked if I needed the address and told me where they were located. She introduced herself again and she repeated the appointment time back to me. We said our goodbyes and the call ended.

Overall, Maria sounded nice and professional yet she didn't ask for my apartment or community preferences.

Upon entering the office, the leasing agent greeted me with a smile and said, “hello, how may I help you?” I told the agent I had spoken to Maria over the phone and had an appointment. She offered me a seat to wait while she finished up with another person. She was apologetic for the wait. She did not introduce herself nor ask who I was.

Even when she approached me after finishing with the other person, she still did not introduce herself. I had to confirm she was Maria.

Maria explained we were going to see the two-bedroom model and provided me a layout to compare and contrast differences between the one- and two- bedroom apartments.

She asked for my ID and the we walked to tour the model.

Maria asked me most of these questions over the phone yet she did not review any of the questions when I arrived. She did not ask me why I was moving or anything else about my apartment search.

First, Maria showed me to the living room and dining room. Then she showed me to the kitchen where asked if all of the units were renovated. She replied that the model was not renovated and that only some units are renovated. Then she showed med the hall closet, the master bedroom and the walk-in closet within the room. She pointed out features of each area.

I inquired about a gym on the property, to which she responded that a gym will be added to the property in a year’s time. She shared that there was also a dog park on the property.

The leasing agents closing was brief since she had someone else waiting to meet with her. Even though it felt rushed she did provide enough information that I needed and she kept a cheery disposition.

When I asked Maria about safety she mentioned that the property had 24-hour courtesy officers who patrol the grounds. When I asked if other pet owners lived on the property, she said she was not sure but confirmed there was a dog park.
