On Monday May 5th, the first two attempts to call the property were made at 1:17 PM and 1:44 PM. Both times the answering service picked up. I reached McKenzie at 4:40 PM that same day after the 2nd ring. She answered the phone with the name of the community and she introduced herself with a very professional tone. I told her I was calling to check on availability of their apartments and I was looking for a two bedroom. She immediately asked for my name and if I had called the office before. She wanted to see if there was an existing guest card in my name. I told her this was the first time. She confirmed the size apartment and used my name in conversation. She asked when I was looking to move. I told her at the end of May before the holiday. She said they have a move-in ready home and she asked what features I was seeking in my new home. I asked if she had a renovated home. She described a renovated two bedroom/one bath on the top floor with a beautiful view and open floor plan. She mentioned the openness of the dining and living area with the large island counter. She pointed out the amount of cabinet space in the kitchen.

I said I noticed the price range online and asked her for a more specific price. She told me the apartment was on special for $1,469 for a twelve-month lease. She said the first month was free if I moved within the next 30 days. She asked if that was in my price range. I told her I was hoping to stay around $1,300 knowing I had to pay for my utilities. She told me $1,469 does cover some utilities just not all of them. She said water, trash, and sewer are covered. Also, parking and maintenance are free. She said I would be responsible for gas and electric and the cable bill. She asked if that would help with my budget. I told her it was still over what I wanted to spent and if I could stay around $1,300. She said she would contact her manager and get back to me. She asked for my phone number and email. I gave her my number, 301-245-3515 and livingbaltimore@gmail.com. She also asked for my last name.

McKenzie re-iterated that she would get back to me on the price. She asked about the number of occupants and if I had any pets. She explained the pet policy and the fees after I told her the breed of dog I had. She invited me in for a tour and said I would be doing a self-tour. She said I would just show my ID at the leasing office door and they would give me the keys. We tentatively set the day but I told her I would call her back with the time. She asked how I heard about the community and I said I saw them on Google but she did not attempt to clarify which website. She asked me if I had any other questions and I told her she had covered everything. She thanked me for calling and we said our goodbyes.
