The call was answered by another consultant after one ring. She greeted me by saying " Southgate Apartment and Townhomes, this is Kenya. It will be my pleasure to assist you." I asked to speak with Samia. I was transferred to Samia, once she picked up, she asked for my name. She then asked me for my move date and I told her within the next 30 days. She asked how I heard about them; how many occupants; if I had any pets; and she asked for my phone number.

She mentioned that she had an apartment available on the first floor with a new bathroom, new kitchen, and a new patio for $1,307. She then asked me to visit the apartments. We agreed on a time. She told me they look to see if I had a bankruptcy and if I owed another management company. I told her neither of those applied. She thanked me for calling and we said our goodbyes.

Overall, Samia was very accommodating. She did ask me the basic questions and she told me they did not have washer and dryers in unit. She could have asked me what I was looking for in my new new home and community.

It was easy to find the leasing office. There were signing directing me to their location. The exterior and interior were clean. The staff did not show me the laundry room or the pool/playgorund area.

When I arrived, Samia was already standing up discussing something with her coworker. When she saw me she said "hello, how are you? You can go ahead and have a seat" I waited for about one minute until she came back to her desk. She asked me a few qualifying question while also looking for my guest card.

Samia asked when my move in date is and how I heard about the apartment while looking for my guest card. Once she found my guest card, she did not asked me anymore qualifying questions.

Onsite Narrative (Please provide a detailed narrative of your visit and be specific. This is mandatory.):

I followed her to the vacant in my car. We made many turns to get to the building and it was a long ride. It was very confusing and I thought I was following the wrong person. She said the parking was free as we walked to the building.

The apartment building had a strong marijuana smell. I asked if the residents were aloud to smoke in their apartment. She said they were regardless of what the chose to smoke. She said they can not prevent them from smoking marijuana.

When we entered the unit, Samia did not lead the demonstration, I toured the unit for about two minutes without a word from Samia. She mentioned the new bathroom and kitchen when I asked about them. When I objected about the apartment not having a washer and dryer in the unit, she told me they had a laundry room instead. She did not point out any features or amenities as I walked through the vacant. I pointed out that there was a mouse trap in the closet and she did not say a word about it.

I told her I come home late at night and asked if the area was safe and she said, "it was safe". I then told her I have an eleven year old and asked if they had families in the community and she said, "they do".

She did not provide an application or a brochure to me. I really didn't feel that Samia was trying to rent me an apartment. She didn't say anything to encourage me to rent. She didn't tell me about any amenities until I asked her.

Samia did not take me back to the leasing office after the demonstration. She said we did not have to go back to the leasing office since she did not take my ID. She did not give me a brochure or review the rates. She did ask if I wanted to fill out an application. I told her that I will needed to think about the apartment. She mentioned the the current promotion of $99 one month deal and $99 for the security deposit. I did not tell her that I was looking at other apartment which is the reason for the N/A.

She said goodbye to me in the parking lot.
