I called on Wednesday, 12/16/2020, another person had answered the phone and I asked for Taran explaining that my boyfriend had called a couple weeks earlier and spoke with her. I was transferred to Taran. She answered and she stated her name. I told her my boyfriend had spoken to her and we wanted to now see what they had available. She told me there was only a two-bedroom becoming available and that the one-bedroom that she talked to my boyfriend about had already been leased.

Taran asked if I interested in a balcony or a patio. She explained what was included in the rent and what I would be responsible for paying. She asked me when I was looking to move in and I told her after the first of the year or before then. We talked about the pet policy and the parking situation. Taran didn't ask on the phone my reasoning for moving but did ask during the visit.

When I walked into the leasing office, I was greeted by a person sitting behind a desk, that happened to be Taran. She had me take a seat at her desk. She pulled up my information from the phone call and started giving me more information about the apartment. It was super loud as there was another person being helped in the office that was a resident. Someone else who had worked there was talking to Taran and the other women from her desk around the corner. It seemed distracting.

Comments on the Identifying Needs :

Taran identified my needs by going over what we discussed on the phone. She was only able to show me one apartment and that was the model. She explained there was a one- bedroom available as well as a two- bedroom that was becoming available but they still needed to be cleaned before being viewed. We talked about the square footage and prices and number of occupants in the apartment. It would be just me.

Comments on the Demonstration (Please describe your experience while virtually touring with community with the Leasing Professional.):

Taran walked me through the model of the one- bedroom apartment. She unlocked the door and allowed me freely to walk throughout the apartment. She pointed out that the washer and dryer is in the kitchen and there would be updated cabinets. She also said the bathroom would be updated as well. She was going to show me how to hook the water up for the washer but someone had removed the piece that she needed to do so.

Everything in the apartment was super clean and neat and it had updated furniture. Taran told me about the playground since I shared that I had a young niece that visits me. I asked about a pool and she said they did not have one but she didn’t ask me if that was a deal breaker.

As we finished viewing the model, I mentioned that I was going to look at the District at Forestville. She didn’t give me any selling points against them yet she told me how to get there. As Taran continued speaking she kept looking into the big tall mirror and was worried about fixing her hair rather than keeping eye contact.

I would have leased an apartment at Admiral Place since the model held a clean home vibe. Taran was personable sharing stories about her two-year-old son and a daughter about my age. She learned why I was leaving Delaware and relocating for my business.

Taran explained the leasing process right after I was greeted as we sat at her desk. She gave me a paper application and she went over the income requirements.

I asked Taran if people in the apartments are loud since I had lived in an apartment that had college kids and it was always loud. I told her I wanted to stay away from that environment. she said that it is an apartment community so there is some noise but she would not be able to tell me how loud my neighbors are because she does not know them that well.

I had asked if there was security around because I may look at getting a night time job and not knowing the area to well that would make me feel better. She stated that that a police officer lives in the apartments but there is security around at night and I would get all of that information once I moved into the apartment.

I did not receive an email or a phone call from Taran once leaving the office. She did say that she could call me once unit 29 became available but I had not heard back within 48 hours.
