Dion asked for my name and how I heard about the community. He asked me when my move date was and how many people would be on the lease. He did not ask me for my price range but he did ask if I had any pets and I let him know that I would be moving with one cat. Dion went over the prices before going over the amenities or specials. Dion did ask me when I would like to come in and I was able to schedule an appointment for later that same day. Overall, Dion left a good impression about himself as well as the community. I was looking forward to my tour.

Plumtree Apartments was easy to locate and all of the directional signs were in very good repair. The leasing office was also very easy to find because of all of the directional signs. The landscaping was tidy and there was no trash to report during my visit. The office was very neat and inviting. The leasing office was a converted open floorplan apartment so there was a coffee maker in the kitchen as well as sticky buns on the kitchen's island. I was not offered any refreshments. The building entry was clean and free of clutter. The laundry room was also very tidy. Overall my impression was a positive one.

When I arrived Deon did stand to greet me and he shook my hand and smiles. He was dressed professionally in business casual including a tye. He introduced himself to me and gave me a guest card to fill out. There were no chairs ( in front of his desk) to sit in so I had to stand and bend over the desk to fill out the card. This was awkward. Honestly, Deon seemed pretty neutral the entire tour. He did his job but he was really quiet and didn't ask me any rapport building questions.

Deon did ask me how I heard about the apartments and he asked me for my possible move in date. He confirmed the number of occupants but he did not confirm the reason I was moving. I left my phone number on the customer card.

We toured a vacant apartment and took a very convenient route to the apartment. The apartment was clean and seemed to be move in ready. During the walk, Deon was very quiet and did not attempt to learn about me at all. Deon did not speak about the management company or their benefits. He did point out the gym and we also toured the gym which was a nice surprise. The gym was well equipped. Deon did point out the apartments special features including plenty of large closets and the updated kitchens. Deon did spend enough time with me but the presentation was not personalized at all. My objections were overcome and it seemed that there were updated two bedroom apartments available that would meet my needs. Deon was polite and professional but his overall demeanor seemed to be a little subdued.

After the tour, we went back to the office and he asked me how I liked the apartment. I let him know that I was at the beginning of my search and this had been my first stop. He also asked me how soon I was planning on making a decision and I let him know that I needed to decide in about a week. He did not push me to move forward after my objections and did not ask me directly why I was not interested in renting today. I was given floor plans and a price sheet as well as a business card. I thought Deon was professional but lackluster. He was polite but really did not add much value during the tour. His attitude left me feeling neutral about the apartment, not good nor bad, just not memorable.

When I asked Deon about safety he told me that he had been working there for two years and there had been no safety issues. He also said that there was a good mix of families and that they lived throughout the community. Nothing that he said could have been seen as discriminatory.
